Covid-19 crisis and the future of Industry

The COVID-19 has taken over the entire globe as the consequence of which the situation has aggravated and impacted the economy and lives of people. Cement Industry in India will be seeing a doomy turn in fortune with the outbreak of COVID-19.

As everyone’s aware that as per government guidelines Cement Plants have resumed their operations from 20th April’2020 but, as per industry officials it is expected that it would take another 10 -15 days before the activities normalize. The plants are being restarted with maximum 02 shifts and with 25 to 30 % strength.

As estimate shows that 70 to 75 % plants in India were shut down and the owners of these plants had to go through surging costs which seems critical for the coming few days.

It is prominent from the current situation going in the nation and around the globe that manufacturers might face severe predicament for an average of 01- 02 months in procurement and distribution of goods.

The major issue is the uncertainty of what is going on? The reality is that we even don’t know what’s going on and we will not be able to know for some period of time. It’s the time when everybody is struggling. The priority at this time is the health of ourselves, our families, peers, employees, vendors, etc.

On the contrary, as India is the second-largest producer of cement in the world so it will take some time for us to recover but recovery will be quick. In the future, all project costs will be low.

In this critical time, being a part of the business world and humankind it is our core responsibility to look after ourselves and not forget about our labourers and employees who play a significant role in the lives of all of us.
